...and now for fabulous Tangerine!
Orange has been around for a couple of seasons now, but this particular shade is so yummy and golden and it makes me smile. It's Tangerine!
Here is what Leatrice Eiseman, who’s the Executive Director of the Pantone® Colour Institute, says: "Tangerine is a juicy orange shade that is energizing, yet not jarring to the eye. Versatile Tangerine is striking enough to stand on its own and adds vitality to a printed pattern. Good natured and friendly, but with a tangy edge, this fun-loving colour invites a smile." I agree with her, it's a colour that instantly lifts your mood.
Tangerine is a big, bold colour, similar to the colour poppy (see my last post), but this one grabs attention even more quickly. If you just want a hint of it, go for some zingy accessories!
I love this playful orange apple scarf from Boden:

Perhaps, to suit your taste, tangerine is best kept to lingerie! If so Larkspur Lengerie, based in LA, uses locally sourced, natural fabrics that are environmentally friendly and combine sex appeal with bohemian style.
Ready to make the tangerine leap to clothing? Here's something to make you sizzle:
This is a really fun piece from elroy whose designer, Leanne McElroy creates her eco-friendly designs in Vancouver and produces her pieces from a cottage industry in Indonesia. Her designs have a laid-back West Coast vibe and are eye-catching without being over-the-top.
For eye catching combo's with tangerine try mixing it up with fuchsia, chocolate, aqua, white, putty, grey, navy or black. So many fabulous choices!
And, it can be stunning all on it's own. Viviane Leigh, looking cool in tangerine, a vintage photo from glamour.com
